Lately, there has been an influx of "B" movies hitting the TV waves, primarily created and produced by the SyFy channel. They have the amazing ability to successfully (?) cash in on a combination of terrible premise, sub-par graphics, bad actors, and not-always-so-lame comedy. Really, they are diamonds in the rough. Some of these border cinematic genius. How do we honor these movies? How do we ensure that future generations will see them, and they won't get lost in the vast abyss of Hollywood? There really is only one way- to allow the Emmy nominated, Peabody Award winning, CableAce winning (meh) show Mystery Science Theater 3000 to completely obliterate them. There isn't a single team that can truly help us appreciate this tongue-in-cheek comedy better than the amazing crew of the Satellite of Love- Joel, Mike, Tom Servo, Gyspy, and Crow. I move we ask the SyFy channel, parent of masterpieces such as Piranahconda, Sharknado, and Sharktopus, to bring MST3000 back to their channel in order to do their own pieces justice. Considering SyFy was the last channel to air MST3000 (back when it was SciFi), it shouldn't seem a stretch to think they would be capable of doing so again. If they don't, I am sure they can get the same treatment from Netflix that Full House got- a nice reboot with a few episodes, featuring the more cult-ish reels. It was a joy to watch the show when I was younger. It enabled me to see movies that would have collected dust otherwise. I say we do it again. I say we immortalize these movies in the most honorable way possible- with a roast befitting kings.
