Bring Mr Kreeft back

To whom it may concern, I am truly bothered by the actions that have been taken over this situation. As I am sitting here listening to the Imperial March from Star Wars Episode 5, you may be thinking is this guy serious? To answer that, this is as serious as I've ever been. Because not only has the St. Francis Administration treated somebody that I and many others could call a teacher and a friend, but they also threw dirt on one of their own students who had the heart to come back and do what he loved which is to teach the youth. What has led up to this situation has not only been the most ridiculous thing I think I have ever heard on my 16 years of breathing on this earth. But it's simply the fact that as adults and youth we cannot tell the difference between right and wrong. Call it complicated as you wish but justice is not served here, and the very administration and these group of people need to find God within themselves. God every day forgives us for every sin we commit and still loves us each day the same as the last. As a Salesian graduate from the Salesian Sisters Elementary and Junior High School, which St. Francis is supposed to be the "continuation" of this school, have treated their students with the same Christ taught Justice that this very school lacks. And as both schools of Salesian they 3 pillars are Reason, Religion and Loving Kindness. There was absolutely ZERO reasoning whatsoever because clearly favoritism that certain teachers have (you know who you are) and favoritism over certain students because their family has "wealth" to sponsor the school. It all adds up on why the school would need these students and their families. There was absolutely no consideration of what God would do in a situation like this because this is the domino effect of what is happening to YOUR school. Having connections with past graduates from St. Francis, the derogatory terms, racial slander, talks about inappropriate things with certain students is absolutely noth

The decision was bias. I miss Lee and he would have never let this situation escalate this way. Throughout the day, staff were saying it was heartbreaking and they all loved Kreeft, but I honestly don’t think that’s true because why would you make a backhanded compliment about him five minutes later. I hope somehow the board sees these comments and thinks about the students, not just one, two, or FOUR, but the whole school.

Saint Francis didn’t deserve Kreefts kindness. Crazy how they decided to listen to some immature girls that were looking for trouble rather than a good man who was loved by most if not many of the students. True colors will always show in the end. If you can’t handle the problem, you started then save your tears!! Don’t be playing victim on something you created. Kreeft admitted and regretted his actions now it’s time they do the same. (Not just talking about the girls including the staff members that were involved)

Although I have no firsthand experience of the incident that led to Mr. Kreeft’s termination, I am compelled, as an SF alumnus, to write in my brother’s defense.  I’ve known Mr. Kreeft his whole life.  I know his character.  I know he has a kind and generous heart.  And reading these testimonies, you all know that, too.  Mr. Kreeft loves his students, and he cares about their education and their growth as people outside the classroom.  He has demonstrated his character in the community time and time again.  It is also true that Mr. Kreeft recently made a big mistake—and he knows this.  He takes full responsibility for his actions and there should be serious consequences for them.  But are we really going to act like this incident is some great, irredeemable stain against Mr. Kreeft’s character?  It sounds like a fairly understandable human interaction to me - one that both parties could learn from if given the proper opportunity.  Mr. Kreeft can learn how to better control his emotions and handle difficult student situations; and the student herself can learn to not cruelly verbally attack and humiliate people for no reason whatsoever. Teachers need to maintain their composure and act as role models for the student body, but it’s also true that students need to treat teachers with respect and human decency. In this incident, it was a student’s unnecessary aggression and meanness that prompted the teacher’s response. Mr. Kreeft was never threatening, nor was he ever physical.  In my four years as a student at St. Francis (2006-2010), I can assure you that I witnessed far more egregious, offensive, and upsetting moments and words from teachers than anything Mr. Kreeft has demonstrated.  None of them were fired.  Firing Mr. Kreeft over such a small matter shows that this administration is woefully unequipped to navigate complex situations within the community.  Your job, as administrators, is to handle this incident with fairness and to act with the best interes

If you knew him you would like him 1000%.

The school can’t solve a problem so now the community has to work together and solve it ourselves. We know you’re seeing these comments and acknowledging them. You’re just not doing anything about them. Do we have to go to the board, get more signatures, or what do we need to do to get him back. Do you know we’re right you just don’t wanna say anything or are you jealous that no one will ever glorify and love a staff member.

I strongly think there is more to the story than what’s being said. Yes, Kreeft did make a mistake, but he should not have gotten fired for it. The positives outweigh the negative. He has done so many positive things for the school and the students. He has made it a better place and environment, and I can majorly say wherever he was he always made it feel like a home, school, church, and playground. He was like a walking hug, always loving and trying to bring out the best in people. However, before this incident happened, I have already heard things about that group of girls. I have heard that they are bullies, kiss ups, and problem starters. I believe those girls are equally as bad. They knew what they were doing when they came in the classroom. They started the problem Kreeft just ended it.

During the assembly, the principal and dean made it seem like he used physical force on someone, but in reality, we all know he wouldn’t hurt a fly. This was a valedictorian . Honestly, I don't understand why Saint Francis is ranked as the county's best private school when we're actually the worst. The only reason people go here are for their friends other than that we all know the system is broken. The education is poor, sports aren’t the best, and teachers don’t teach they just get mad when you ask questions. I feel terrible for anyone who has to give a dime to this school.

He was my favorite teacher

I was at the assembly in which the St Francis administration explained why they fired Mr Kreeft. The administration were explaining it like these girls were victims to the worst crime ever. Ask around , these girls were being extremely disrespectful and out right mean to Mr. Kreeft and he lost control . What he did wasn’t appropriate but what the girls did was equally as bad, they are all if not adults ( 18 ) then 17. They are not kids who slipped up they knew what they were doing and there should be some consequences. The staff did not elaborate as to what that would be. I hope the staff realizes the effect of this firing is going to be towards the students and the cultural of this school.

We need him back

The school administration is completely disorganized. The staff is careless. The front office lady is mean. It takes extremely long to receive email responses for any need. The students (boys) are allowed to wear make up and earrings without any dress code policy. The girls wear extremely short skirts. This is not a good representation of a Catholic School. The school needs to be led better. I will pull my student if changes are not made. I didn’t enroll my student here to see male peers wearing female earrings. I don’t care how welcoming you try to be. It’s not the Catholic way. The teacher may have been dealing with a troubled student. Who knows but I do know the entire body that leads the school needs to do better.

BRING HIM BACK

As much as possible, I don’t like to get involved in things that aren’t my business, and of which I don’t have facts about. Since my son had Mr. Kreeft for two classes, it impacts him. It’s very rare that my son speaks about a teacher at all, especially in such a positive way. Mr. Kreeft has left a lasting impression on my son, and he is disheartened by his removal. This generation is not silent. They demand to be heard, and technology allows them that opportunity. And in this charged world climate, I’m proud that they’re standing up. While each case is unique, I hope all administration are held to the same removal standards and practices. If appropriate, I hope there is a case for Mr. Kreeft to be forgiven and reinstated. It’s clear that he is beloved!

Please reconsider bringing him back. Too harsh of a punishment for all the good he has done.

Please, use your voices to support your children. Don’t let one setback ruin everything we’ve worked and pushed for; continue your good work! Email Mr. Walker, contact administration, we must do what’s necessary to make our children’s voices heard over the sound of money!

No matter what happens, don’t give up! This is inferenced by donor parents and the labor they do for the school over the voices of the people! Don’t be mean, but don’t give up doing what’s right for our children. Contact the administration, continue your persistence, but don’t give up what’s right. If you do, then what example are we setting for our children for their future?

I agree that it is important to acknowledge the situation that led to his dismissal. However, I firmly believe that it is important to remember we are all human and we make mistakes and that Mr Kreeft should be given the opportunity to remedy his mistake and the student body and faculty and parents can consider practicing forgiveness which can be a great example of how our Catholic beliefs can be put into practice. I have faith Mr. Kreeft will take this situation seriously and learn from it going forward just as other St. Francis teachers have been forgiven for their previous mistakes at St Francis as they remain teachers and staff currently.
