Hello everyone. I come to you today and ask you for a favor. I have an English teacher, his name is Scott Leake. My teacher is being asked to stop being a teacher at Dr. Phillips High School because he does not "fit well." He has made a huge impact on my life and the life of many others in his first year teaching at DP. He was the Assistant coach for the Varsity and JV girl's soccer team at DP. He was also the announcer for the lacrosse games. Mr. Leake not only made an impact on students during school hours but he also stayed after school voluntarily to help with after school activities. He has a family, including 3 kids that he needs to feed and give shelter to. He doesn't have a backup plan or job and he enjoys teaching and has a passion for it. Since the first day of school he told us to stand up for what we believe in and instead of focusing on how what you're going to do in the future, focus on how you can make a change in the world. I ask that we come together today and fight to save Scott Leake's job at Dr. Phillips High School.

Mr.Leake has helped encourage me during the soccer season and was a great assistant soccer coach and always lifted everyone's spirits and motivated us to do better
Mr.Leake is the best teacher I have ever had. Not bringing him back would be a crime to those who come into English 2 next year. He actually cares about us as students. The teachers Admin praise are the same ones who leave as soon as they can & don't offer school and life help/advice. He has made such a great impact on me and has kept me going all year even when I feel like giving up. He is the teacher that would be a great representative of a Dr. Phillips Panther. Never less than the best.
I am an alumna of DPHS and I have to say that coming by an influential teacher in Orange County's horrible educational system is rare and nearly non existent. OCPS and DPHS need more teachers like this. Don't fire a teacher if they actually do more than just their job of droning information into the adolescent brain, we need more teachers who show care and passion about the youth. If anything they should be hiring more teachers like this man.
I don't know Mr, Leake that well but I've seen him around campus and have had small talk with the gent. But the way students and working together to push something they believe in should show enough that he has been doing something right for Doctor Phillips students. Letting go a teacher, father, and a positive influence to our campus would be absurd.
First off I want to say that Mr. Leake cares about all of his students they are his own kids and because of that there's always a better connection and understanding between teacher and student. I have never heard him yell or get annoyed or frustrated with us as a class. He will go above and beyond when it comes to getting us on the right track and keeping us interested in what hes teaching. He is a very considerate and kind man and he is one of the best teachers that I have ever had.

Mr. Leake was the only reason i learned what to know on the fsa if not for him i would have failed.
