I am an Albemarle County resident and very much look forward to enjoying the reservoir ambiance at Camp Champion. There’s nowhere else to do that since only private landowners have access to the waterfront.

I fully support this idea of repurposing a vacant building to a family friendly business. Champion has shown to Cville that it is a successful business that also gives back to the community. Let's encourage business ideas that we know work and make Northern Albemarle an even better place to live.

It has been proven in each community within VA, that when a responsibly owned brewery opens up that the community becomes stronger, more valuable, and that economic development comes not too far behind the opening. One could look back to the 1700s in England and Scotland or to today in each and every town across not only VA, but across the entire country.

I do not live in the County, but am very familiar with the businesses that Hunter & crew operate in the City. They are well-run, respected & respectful, community-oriented and family-friendly. I have no reason to believe that this establishment will be any different. If history is any guide, it will prove to be a good neighbor and a true asset to the community.

I live 1 1/2 blocks from Champions’ taproom. They are an asset to this community, model citizens. I’ve never been bothered by noise or rowdy customers, no drunk drivers that I’ve ever seen. I would be surprised if property values near Camp Champion didn’t increase because of its presence.

I was sent a petition like this one to oppose this about a month ago. And a letter in my mailbox! Looking at the lovely, thoughtful comments on this petition versus the hateful and fear mongering comments on the latter tells me all I need to know about the two parties. The other petition was sent to me by someone I’ve never even met, who has the audacity to represent Earlysville and as far as I know he’s not even from here. I drive by this piece of land daily and it’s a trash collection site. It would be wonderful for our neighborhood to have it repurposed and made into something beautiful like a waterfront lodge for families. I look forward to taking my children there for dinner next year around the holidays and showcasing our beautiful reservoir. Please don’t let an ungrateful rich neighbor delay this any longer for Earlysville. We’d like to have a face to face meeting with this Keith W. guy very soon at the local firehouse. Stop harassing local businesses and Earlysville needs something like this!

The Champion brand is one that breeds family. Hunter Smith is a family man and well respected within the community. I am excited to see this new venture corn to fruition, as I think it will allow even more people to connect with a brand that understands it's customers and values community.

I live just around the corner from the airport and would LOVE a close-by brewery in the area! This would be a great addition to Earlysville.
