Bring Backyard Chickens to Cambridge

I would love to have chickens. We have them at the school I work at, and many of our students are involved in the care!

Hi, Growing chicken in backyard is fantastic as long as household take the responsibility to keep the neighborhood off of smell by keeping it clean. This is an educational and productive. If City of Cambridge passes bylaws, the people will have opportunity to eat organic without going anywhere.

I have wanted to have two or three chickens to supply my family with eggs for a very long time. It's time to reconsider the bylaw.

It's about time our city allowed chickens in backyards.

Allow responsible people to have the pleasure of raising a couple chickens. Establish laws to govern those that are irresponsible.

I am a resident of Cambridge and I support the city allowing backyard chickens in peoples homes. I myself would like to have chickens in my backyard. Its a great idea and Guelph and Kitchener both allow it so why can't Cambridge?

If you have enough property to support a few chickens then I am all for it. Keep them clean and there would be no issue.

Great idea!. Silly bylaw. Easily regulated.

As a former chicken owner in another city I am disappointed to not have this opportunity in Cambridge. Small flocks of chickens (3-12 birds) are not noisy, stinky or otherwise a nuisance. They are easy to maintain and provide many benefits.

I'd consider having a couple hens in a coop!
