Absolutely ludicrous! I sincerely hope the appeals process concludes how farcical all of this is. Mr West is so highly regarded and respected by his students and has been consistently over a number of years - this should speak volumes and overlook a very small and unfortunate incident such as this one. It is criminal that he has been dismissed from teaching at St Peters, he was an asset to the school while I studied there. Physics will never be as fun at St Peters again if he is not reinstated.

A teacher you could go to and talk about absolutely anything about. A teacher that gave helful advice and knew that showing pupils respect would earn him respect to. He'll be back, and if he doesn't, i'll happily handcuff myself to the school gates!

This decision is stupid, and it sends out a signal to pupils that authority is a machine incapable of sense and reason and compassion and that if you have an accident in life the authorities will see that not for what it is, an accident but judge you as a criminal instead. We all know what happens when people loose respect in authority.

Mr West is one of those teachers who you always remember for making the subject come alive. It is a disgrace what happened to him. Future generations of students will greatly miss out on his brilliant teaching if he isn't reinstated.

The only physics lesson I can recall 12 years after leaving St. Peter's is one Mr Wedt taught us about toppling a building using resonance. He is a very much treasured teacher!!
