Awful without a doubt one of the best teachers I ever had!

The British educational system needs more teachers with the passion for teaching that Mr West so obvious has. Life and learning cannot always be 100% safe. MAYBE Mr West made a mistake when choosing to conduct the lesson that way but his students are better off risking a freak accident rather than being turn off physics and education.

If it's as straightforward as it sounds he should be given another chance, I'm sure the school will do the right thing and support good teachers at a time when teaching quality is such a high profile issue...

Wrongful sacking, no damage coursed what so ever to the pupil
Westy is a brilliant teacher, the pupils of St Peters will benefit greatly if he is reinstated. Mistakes are made.

Just read about this on Facebook, what an absoloute disgrace. I went to St. Edmund's & had Mr West for Physics in 6th Form. One of the true stand out teachers for me during my education. Sincerely hope he gets re-instated.

Legendary teacher! Can't believe how short sighted St Peters have been. As a teacher myself, I do what I can to engage pupils and Mr West was the master. If you weren't on his class, you wanted to be! Bring back the best, bring back West!!

I am not affiliated with the school in any way, to be honest I don't even know where it is. I don't know any of the pupils involved or the teacher, but can see by the comments and article I read today that Mr West is an exemplary teacher and one who engages with his pupils and actually TEACHES! Ridiculous decision taken by the school and I sincerely hope that he is reinstated as soon as possible. He is obviously held in very high regard but current and ex pupils alike.

When I had Mr West as a teacher, his lessons were the only lessons I actually looked forward to. He was such a good teacher, and shouldn't have been fired!
