Mr West was an inspirational teacher to me when I was at St. Peters. The response to sack him is completely disproportionate to the incident that was reported to have occurred and he should be reinstated at the school.

Mr West inspired both of our children, and they have both followed a scientific career path. It would be a great loss to S Peter's if he were to go.

If Mr West doesn't get reinstated or chooses not to return if he is offered his old job back, I would be delighted if he would consider applying to my daughter's school. Inspirational teachers are always welcome, and I understand the experiment in question is a normal part of the Nuffield Curriculum and had been demonstrated by many teachers without incident many times before.

I think Mr Richards has been harsh and has been stupid in sacking Adrian
