Come on SPeters. There are few great teacher and Mr West is without a doubt one of the best at SPeters (well he was when I was there 1997-2002

While I don't know the teacher personally, I am from Wolverhamption, and I know what a good school St. Peter's is. I've read the comments from pupils in this teacher's class and I think anyone who can inspire in the way he seems to should be treasured, not persecuted. Mistakes happen in life- thankfully this wasn't a serious one. I understand in that everyone is worried about law suits in this blame culture we find ourselves in- perhaps measures can be taken to stop something more serious happening in future. Ok, lessons should be learned, but I don't think it warrants what seems to be a very good and inspriational teacher loosing his job. This clearly is NOT in the students' best interests.

Mr West was the major factor in my son's decision to take Physics A level, he was an inspirational teacher, dynamic lessons and a caring personality. If there were more teachers like him in the profession, our youngsters would be better served.

A long time ago, my physics teacher, Jim Sutherland, inspired me in physics to such an extent that I am now a qualified aircraft engineer. Mr West seems to be just like him so his students should get the same chance that I did. I wish there were more like them.

My own physics and biology teachers inspired me greatly. I am now a sister in a children's intensive care unit. All these pupils of this teacher are shouting as loud as they can! He is obviously an inspiration and accidents do happen. He needs to be forgiven and appreciated for his ability to have so many present and old pupils support him. I remember when my chemistry teacher blew up his own face in an experiment thet went wrong. He wasn't sacked. Give him his job back. Have some common sense.

Mr West was a fantastic teacher who inspired many to strive for better and learn more! He and his physics team got me interested in physics which is something all by itself!! Get him back!!!

Getting rid of a great teacher doesn't help anyone in the long run. St. Peters board need to take a good look at themselves instead of heading off down the Newhampton after every bloody meeting
