Bring back the Google Music "5-Star" rating system

True music collectors use more than an up/down rating system.

Bring back the 5-Star ratings Google. Stop shitting on GPM.

thumbs up/down sucks

Yeah, this is kind of crushing after curating a library massive library. I think I might drop this service and go back to hosting my own music again.

I think the main point I didn't make is that the highly rated playlist is the most kick-ass cross-genre playlist that can be devised. Something no curated radio station or genre specific playlist can replicate, Now google has removed the tools to keep the list updated with new music.

I hate to break the news to you but with the 5-star system when you went to the Highly rated songs section (now called thumbs-up) and hit the shuffle button it randomly played all your 4 and 5 star rated songs. When you used the I feel lucky button google would include 3-5 star songs (as well as unrated music) in the list it generated.

Much prefer the 5 star system,

I spent years rating all my music using the 5 star system. To have it wiped out makes me rethink my Google subscription. This is the feature that set the system apart from others in my opinion.

This was an integral feature of Google AA Music that I used and relied on. This feature being removed marks a change in my feelings towards that system I have never felt before.

The 5-star rating system can easily be converted to a Thumbs Up (1-2 stars) or a Thumbs Down (4-5 stars). Therefore, the reason given for the removal of this extremely valuable functionality is invalid. There is no reason not to allow users to rate their songs on a 5-star scale if they'd like to. Please bring this back to prove that you are not (as it currently seems) slowly turning into just another Apple. Google users appreciate options and customizability, not just a pretty interface that obfuscates a lack of features!

I will be looking for a replacement for Google Play Music until they bring this feature back. This decision and their lack of AAC support have been the last straw for me. Goodbye Google!

I listen to music at my desktop for 20 hours a week, and this change immediately made my experience much worse. Two stars isn't the same as Thumbs Down!

Please bring back the 5 star rating tool. It was an effective way to select large play lists and made Google Music a better service.

Please bring back the 5 star ratings! I rated all my songs using this system! I will have to continue using iTunes as my music manager if this isn't an option.

I'd be happy with One Thumb Up, Two Thumbs Up, Thumb Down, too

I am now actively looking for a different music provider (even if it means re-uploading my thousands of songs to a different service) and will no longer be purchasing any music from Google Play unless this is fixed.

Please don't make me find another music provider to get back a better rating system.

Thumbs down doesn't make any sense in my own music collection which leaves me with thumbs up being the only way to rate my songs.

Please bring back the rating system. The thumbs are bullshit.

I'm not sure who at Google determined that "thumbs up or down" was a useful feature for an application where you buy and import your own music. Personally, I don't buy nor import a lot of music that I hate... up/down is only useful for people who have the unlimited access subscription; 5-stars was useful for everyone.
