Bring back the Google Music "5-Star" rating system

I want 5 star ratings

I spent hundreds of hours using Google play and rating songs. Please bring our ratings back so we, your customers, can get our data back. The time and effort we invested was considerable and at least give us the chance to export that metadata, so our having used your service was not a complete and insulting loss.

5 star ratings were imported from iTunes, and supporting them allowed more playlist flexibility as smart playlists arent user creatable on GPM. No without 5 star system, its too manual of a process to produce playlists such as '5 star songs from the past 3 years'

This is a must have for me...I will switch to iTunes

Absurd to not have 5 star as an option.

Just like I can give a thumbs up to a double quarter pounder and a 18 oz. New York strip, I don't want them to lumped in the same category and degree of how much I like them. Y'all being lazy if not stupid to not be able to work with the 5 star system.

Disgrace that Google deem this rating change not even worthy of a decent response or update in many many months. Have wiped out many hours of labour with no prewarning or customer engagement. Really don't deserve my money, but no good alternative out there, and i have spend a lot of time on my library. Extremely poor customer service.

We really shouldn't have to sign a petition to get such an obvious feature.

Terrible choice by Google - I have invested hours of time sorting and classifying my music, and am unhappy about this AND the fact that they refuse to invest any effort in adding a smartlist capability, which will forever wean me from iTunes.

This was a feature I utilized extensively and with it's removal I lost numerous ratings on a 15,000 song collection. Very disappointed.

Bring back 5 stars. Thumbs up/down, benefits Google, only.

This is a BASIC feature of a digital music collection.

I've used Google Music since it's release. I pushed back against subscription music services until then. I didnt like the idea that I felt I was losing control and ownership of my music. Google Music convinced me take my meticulously organized iTunes library to the cloud, mostly because the transition seemed easy. I could sync and play my music across all my devices. It was worth losing a few features. For a while things were great. Google would randomly decide to change the entire mobile interface at times, but I adapt quickly. Removing 5 star ratings is where I draw the line. Google took it upon themselves to throw out years of work on MY PERSONAL LIBRARY and change my ratings to thumbs up or down. My playlist system is trashed. There is no such thing as a thumbs down in my collection, only varying degrees of good. Thumbs down is delete. I don't think Google understands the severity of their decision. It's not just about ratings, it's about their cavalier attitude of ownership of my data. That they feel it's OK to make major changes to my music collection because it fits THEIR vision. If they don't bring back 5 star ratings I will abandon ALL of Google.

Please review this policy, up down votes make filtering music incredibly hard. Love Hate don't rate is fail.
