We need the 5-star rating system back. It perfectly represented how we felt about specific titles. Using a "love/dislike" system is much too simplistic and just isn't specific enough.

I use this system in iTunes:
5 stars - best
4 stars - best with errors, replace
3 stars - good
2 stars - good with errors, replace
1 star - filler
0 stars - still unrated
So I guess that I will still be using iTunes for my offline music library. Unless google does something about this.

The thumbs up/down rating system is nearly useless. I can't see a single good reason for doing this. At the verylease Google should explain to the users why they have done this terriblr thing.

Most important feature is the 5-star rating system. Large contingent of user base wants it back. Bring it back!

I love the player, but I couldn't care less about the subscription features. However, it works amazingly well to stream my own music, and I would like to keep rating it. The thumbs up/down sounds like a smart idea for the shuffled radio aspect, but not for my own personal library.

Please! :D
I spent a lot of time on rating the music in my own library. The difference between 4 and 5 stars are very helpful for sorting music.

5 star is a much more refined and useful system than thumbs up.

I can't understand why Google dropped such a simple and useful implementation as the 5-star rating.
