This man is a Marine. He is doing his job!! The student who swore at an adult in a school needss to be dealt with. The assistant principal should be fired. The Marine is part of a training program to prepare these KIDS how to act appropriately in the future. I feel all civilians could use a little "educating" on the expectations of our future military.

This is my daughters senior year so I have known Lt Colonel Hunter since she started her freshman year. He has been a positive constant support for her and all the cadets and students at Salem High. He is a father figure to some and a mentor to all. I am absolutely discouraged by the schools lack of leadership and obvious intent to cover their inability to maintain discipline with certain disruptive students who are well know to the administration for being difficult.

From all accounts, this man was a stellar instructor and role model. He gets in one disagreement with an administrator and he gets fired? Seems to me that the admin might be the one that should be fired. If he can't have a lively discussion with another re: rules and discipline without his delicate ego getting damaged, he shouldn't be in that position.
And who suffers here? The kids! WTG, Salem.

pretty sad when LtCol Hunter just wanted to help this young man and the Principal doesn't want to help. Boy things have really changed. Time to bring back discipline in the schools.

It is a TRAVESTY that our children are not learning ANY personal responsibility in our schools today. It's no wonder most millennials can do nothing on there own and suffer from every anxiety imaginable. Because they never learned to put on their "big kid" pants during their formative years when they had the chance. We are failing our children as the adults in this.

Unfair firing of a Marine Officer who was making a difference in our young men and women.

A man of such dedication and respect should not have been cast out in such a manner by these school officials who lack the spirit to enforce school policy.

Marine Combat Veteran. This is what’s wrong with society. The Colonal was in the right and pandering to a kid has no value in the real world.

It is time to reinstate Lt Col Hunter to his position at SHS. His accomplishments with the kids are many. In addition, he took an
underperforming ROTC program to a Navy award winning program in three years!

He was nothing but kid and respectful towards me.
Please rehire him
