This is just getting insane so many parents are against this ban so why is it even an issue get rid of this and bring bag the joy and fun in school ! They are kids let them be kids and add a little fun with the education. It's not even like there's a ton of holidays that it gets in the way it a simple little thing every few months the school board needs to lighten up and remember when they were kids how happy they were to dress up for Halloween or hand out valentine cards.

What I remember most about elementary school was how much fun I had at holiday parties. Everybody had a great time. Food and games. Parties let us look forward to something at school other than always having to just do schoolwork.

No parties for kids because you say you do not want anyone to feel left out. Yet, book fairs, etc are allowed? I know.. books are good. The teacher had my daughter make up a book Fair WISH list.. Then she got to watch other kids buy books. Why? Because Mommy did not have the money to send with her to buy these school inclusive books. She had a couple kids ask her if she was poor! Glad we make weekly trips to the library. Again.. I know.. join the PPO if you want a voice... You mean group-think or I'll bash you for not thinking like me. Seen it already.

Dekalb needs holidays back in school. I enjoyed spending the holidays in my kids school. Now I have a kindergartener and can't spend that time with him in class

Elementary students, like adults, deserve to have something to look forward to for all of there hard work. Why on earth would it be so pressing to take away something that incorporates school lessons with social graces? I'm not sure if you think that it would help them retain more information or turn them into machines. How do feel when you sit at a conference all day? Try on hundred and eighty days. These are children most of whom have nothing Lose. The poverty rate at your schools? So you are punishing the children why? To push more content? Fix it please because it is currently broken. And it isn't the fault of the children.

My niece is going to be so heartbroken that they don't do parties anymore! She loved it because it was a good time for her to work on her social skills. Im sad to see that they took so much away from these kids. BRING IT BACK!
