This is ridiculous, the kids have worked hard to get at this point... its a milestone in their lives.. this is wrong!!! Do the right thing and let them have a graduation ceremony, recognize their hard work, determination and achievement

This is a time for children to be recognized for the hard work they have done for 8 years and it's the beginning of a new chapter in their lives as they go on to High School! The district should be ashamed of stripping these children of the joy and the wonderful feeling of celebrating this moment in their lives!!!

Our children deserve a ceremony after nine years of hard work and dedication. If crowding and traffic is an issue perhaps the students could be recognized by team at alternate times.

In all the surrounding suburbs they have found a way to have this ceremony, I am sure there is a way to work this out. Please figure out a way to celebrate an 8th grad graduation for our children.

no reason at all why we as parents should not be able to be part of such a memorable day in our children's life.

While I'm not a fan of sitting uncomfortable on bleachers in a gym with tons of people 8th grade promotion/graduation is something all students should experience. In 5 years my son who goes to Sandwich will have an 8th grade graduation while my nephew in Yorkville would not be recognized for his accomplishments in school before entering high school. It's a memory and a treasure for both the students and their families.

BRING THIS BACK THIS YEAR!!! NOT having a graduation for these kids n simply doing a certificate recognition during the day is absolutely ridiculous.
Its the final days of their middle school and schools have been doing this in 8th for years BECAUSE it's a big deal.
No parents during the day either??? Not ok Yorkville......NOT OK AT ALL........ im sure you could get volunteers and teachers to assist with this event. This whole thing is truly crappy on the district's part. We assume there's no graduation for high school either since the ENTIRE district should be affected and NOT just 8th grade. Principal can do something and they should STAT
