Students at Bridlewood School care about their
local wetland and want to make sure it stays a healthy, vibrant part of their
community. Please add your voice! Grade 5 students will inform the city about the importance of
the Bridlewood wetlands and convince them to stop cutting the grass too short
alongside the wetland, in order to preserve habitat of the animals that use it.
I really thought this might just be a small project for the class but seeing all these people interested in the wetland is honestly wild because it means people actually care about these frogs and birds just as much as we do. It feels like we might actually get the city to listen to us about the grass which is just cool.

We've enjoyed the wetlands for a number of years and have even gone there for field trips. An important part of the community and environment.

Please let the grasses grow and allow the habitat to thrive. This teaches the children there is more to life than golf green lawns and pigeons.

We think more people should care about the wetlands. Winter reminds everyone that Wetlands helps keep our water clean.

Keep the grasses long for the animals to live in around Bridlewwod pond. This is part of our wetlands that needs to be preserved for the wildlife.

The amount of garbage I saw in this wetland is absurd. If the grass is kept long, it is less tempting for people to throw their garbage in as it is less accessible!

Bridlewood is very fortunate to have this wetland space for us and the animals to enjoy. Please leave this space as natural as possible, for the animals and residents of Bridlewood. It will also cost you less money if you don't mow it! It's a win win :)

The pond is used as a great education tool for our students
