The council and McDonald's have committed to supporting the Bridge Trust with their relocation. I am still in total shock that this actually happened, but the credit belongs entirely to the people who spoke up to protect our neighbors. Please keep an eye on the charity as they settle into …

The Bridge Trust is a UK registered charity that has supported single homeless people in West Kent since 1991. The charity has helped more than 5,000 homeless people with advice or accommodation and support.

Now Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council has approved planning consent for McDonalds to build a drive through takeaway. The warehouse is due to be demolished and chances are that the charity will collapse.

The homeless charity is now desperately seeking new premises of a similar size and affordable rent.

This petition is to push McDonalds and/or Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council to provide financial support.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many people have taken the time to support this cause. It never crossed my mind that so many of you would care about the future of the Bridge Trust. This momentum belongs entirely to your kindness.

We don't need another McDonald's and the Bridge Trust does amazing work for our community. It would be so sad to see a chain corporation destroy something so special and important.

The Bridge Trust provides a good service to low income families and individuals, supports homeless people, and the recycling of furniture and white goods is also environmentally friendly. The charity needs to be able to set up elsewhere to continue providing their good service and need support to be able to do this

Macdonalds should be made to at least find alternatialentve accommodation at an equivalent rent for this charity and should not be able to operate untill this has been fully arrranged.

Outrageous, its time local government did more to look after vulnerable people which doesnt mean bowing down to the likes of McDonalds whom no doubt have offered a few "road improvements" to save the council coffers.

My grandchildren are McDonald's customers. I'll be having a word with them. Ronald McDonald doesn't exempt the company from other responsibilities.

Tonbridge already has a McDonalds on the High Street. The Bridge Trust carries out a vital social function.

The need is not there for yet another fast food outlet, certainly not \McD's. The siting is wrong, on already congested roads.Bridge Trust do amazing work.
