As indicated by the residents of the Briar Lake Estates Subdivision, Columbia, Illinois, the community would like to lower the Speed Limits from 30 MPH to 25 MPH, for the improved safety of the residents and their children. In addition, reducing the Speed Limit to a speed consistent with other residential neighborhoods within the City of Columbia will mitigate confusion among motorists when traveling through different neighborhoods.

Yes!! Finally someone is doing something about this. My dog almost got hit twice last week.
too many close calls lately. hope the city listens.
cant believe people go 40 in here just to save 10 seconds. totally agree with this proposal
I support lowering the speed limit. We all need to be respectful within our community and drive safe and slow for the protection of the children.

People really fly down the main stretch and it scares me when the kids are out playing in the yard. 25 is plenty fast enough for a sub.
