We have signed this petition to support the Ojeda Family in their efforts to pass the "Briana Ojeda Law" to mandate that every New York City Police Department officers be trained and recertified annually in providing First Aid and CPR; and to make it a crime for such police officer to refuse to administer such life saving measures in any emergency.

I am currently finalizing a formal letter to the NYPD Commissioner to request a meeting regarding current training protocols. We are compiling the documented incidents from the petition comments to present as evidence during that discussion.

The scale of this support has secured us a formal meeting with the city council to discuss the legislative language for this mandate. Legal counsel is drafting the specific framework for the bill to present during that session. We are now preparing the documentation required to move this into the official review process.
