Brendan's Law Comprises of 3 amendments to existing legislation on death due to drunk driving:
1. Setting aside an offenders driving license without prejudice once charged. This will be of tremendous assistance for bereaved families still coming to terms with a sudden, unjust bereavement. (
subject to legal approval. )
2. Mandatory sentences of a minimum 6 years to a maximum of 9 years with no suspended sentences regardless of their previous good character.
3. Mandatory 20 - 25 years disqualification without recourse to the courts after a period of time - say 10 years on the basis of cruel and unjust punishment.
