Graduation is a time for students and their loved ones to come together to celebrate. After going to school for 12+ years, getting that diploma is highly anticipated by most seniors. Unfortunately due to the reconstruction, we are unable to have our graduation held at Tiger Stadium. While this is disappointing to many seniors because who wouldn't want to have their graduation held outside on the turf, this is not the underlying issue. If graduation is not held outside at Tiger Stadium, this limits the amount of tickets each student will have for graduation. By limiting the amount of tickets each student receives, this prevents students from having all the people who they love and who have influenced their success as a student attend their graduation. Also, because the information about the ceremony being moved is relatively new, there are students with relatives that have already booked tickets to fly in to see their senior graduate. By limiting the amount of tickets each student receives, people who are flying in for graduation will be disappointed that they'll end up having to watch graduation from a screen. While there is always the chance that an outdoor ceremony could be moved inside due to rain, every class deserves to at least have a chance to be able to include as many loved ones as they'd like in their celebration. As a senior class we all understand that the foundation issues in the stadium need to be fixed for safety reasons, but pushing the start date back a few weeks will ensure that the spring sports and senior class get optimal use of the field as well as only cutting into a minimal amount of potential home football games.

By signing this petition, you are pledging to boycott graduation unless it is moved to Tiger Stadium. Let's make a difference

The school board is finally feeling the heat because of this massive surge in pressure. They thought we would just roll over and accept a cramped ceremony but they were dead wrong.

my grandma already bought her plane ticket and everything. it is honestly so unfair that we have to deal with this last minute change when we worked so hard to get here.

I see what you're saying except for the fact that there have been foundation issues for a long time now and if it was safe for the football team to play this fall and for spring sports to start their season on the field it should be fine for graduation!!

You guys are wasting your time. Even if you can have graduation on the field there is an extremly high safety risk. There could be sinkholes that we can't see and if you guys care about everyone coming to see your graduation so much wouldn't you put their safety into perspective?
