A Wrigleyville developer wants to build a large, high density 6 unit condo building in Bowmanville at 2046 Foster Ave. The property currently has a solid brick 2-flat and side yard. The requested up-zoning change is from an RS3 to an RT4 to allow for a 6 unit building.

  • This will set a precedent for Bowmanville. If this zoning change is allowed, many more buildings like this will be built throughout Bowmanville.
  • This large building will change the character of Bowmanville. Part of the charm of Bowmanville is its lower density. We are not Wrigleyville or Lincoln Park.
  • It will increase noise. Especially from the planned roof decks.
  • It will increase parking and traffic issues.
  • It will increase property taxes.
  • It will reduce green space. Three mature trees will be removed.
  • This building is 44 feet tall and larger than all other comparable buildings in our neighborhood. It will tower over other buildings blocking natural light
  • This developer recently had controversy in Andersonville (google “Andersonville greystone developer”)
  • This zoning change will only benefit the developer and realtor monetarily, not Bowmanville’s residents!
