We are a group of student and professional musicians who are happy to call Boston home. Our art is alive and well in this city, and for many of us, that's why we are here. Yet, amidst this well established world (and perhaps because of it!), we feel there is a lack of space for classical musicians to share their music with each other outside of a professional or educational setting. Our mission is to foster a social space for Boston’s classical music community--outside of the concert hall and the conservatory--in order to enable the flourishing of the camaraderie and interdependence that we believe are at the heart of the music we love. To effect this mission, we plan to host a community studio class twice a month in which student and professional musicians are invited to perform and listen to their peers in a space that encourages discovery and learning. In order to organize this space, we have decided to apply for the “Grow Your Art” grant offered through the New England Conservatory to help cover the rental, advertising, and organizational costs of our mission. We would like to invite you to express your support so that we can show that there is a widely felt enthusiasm for the creation of such a space. If you see yourself participating in this sort of community, please write your name, instrument, and any other identifier you wish (occupation, school, neighborhood of residence in Boston), and send this link along to friends, colleagues, and anyone who might be interested!

This would be so great to have. Finding places to play that aren't super formal is hard. Count me in!

I'll be very happy to see this happen. It will benefit so many, whose music will then go on to benefit many others.

Nicholas is really good! I would definitely recommend him if you’re looking for a piano teacher or a performance.

I really love the idea of a less stressful environment for us to play for each other. Hope this happens soon!
