Keep "Boosts" at the Cache Jr. Livestock Sale

I have never liked restrictions on boosts it give kids a chance to better cover costs. Some people just want to donate but don’t have enough to buy. Getting rid of or restrictions on boosts just hurts the kids.

Boots are a way business, friends and family can support the exhibitors.

Offsetting the cost of the project animals is only part of item at hand. The animals are expensive to raise, we have three in our family this year. We have been involved with the live stock auction for the last four years and sale price for the animal is not much more than the beginning cost. From the final price my kids repay the costs associated with the project animal to teach them about general economics of life. The other benefit from the boost program is that the kids get the opportunity to learn communication skills with business owners or those who are in a managerial role of a business. That translates to being able to navigate a job interview and being a employee that can communicate with customers or other employees properly. So you see the boost program is not just about money it has more to deal with the next generation of our workforce. So I ask you to please it possible for this program to continue. Thanks

Since when is it ok for an unelected paid employee of the county to make a decision for the rest of us who pay taxes and participate in the livestock program without the opportunity of a discussion?

The 10% fee is extreme. We are also unhappy with changing record books at the last minute.

Please help keep the 4-H kids in mind.

It seems like this isn’t about helping the kids anymore.

I would rather not have the 10% fee on the boosts. It seems really steep to me. What's it going to be next year? 15%? Once you raise a fee or a tax, it never goes back down again-it only goes up.

Boosts are great and should be left to the people and businesses of the community to choose whether or not to boost a 4-H or FFA kid and their chosen product. What people want to do with their money at the fair should not be dictated by others.

Don’t take this away front the kids. You already take a percentage that isn’t yours to take. Most countries don’t take a penny from the kids. Stop taking from ours.

If they did away with boost the kids would not even break even with what they have spent on there animal plus feed, vet bills, meds and supplements. We have to have boost to make up the difference.

As a business owner sometimes it’s works better to boost a lot of kids and still buy animals

The kiddos work so hard!! We have more friends and family that visit ours kids sales more than businesses. The jr livestock/fair is going to lose money.

With out the good graces of businesses and the like. These kids would work really hard and not have a dollar to their name when it’s all said and done. A few dollars in your pocket will keep you working a little harder and striving for more. Best schooling you can receive right there.

Please keep the boost program!

I as a exhibitor I greatly appreciate the Boosts and would really like to.see them continue.

My kids spent hundreds hours of hours with their animals. If it’s about the time to enter it in, I’d gladly come help out. Come on, hadn’t this year been tricky enough already....

Please keep this available. So that if people would like to help out, Let them. Kids work on their projects hard. And please let us parents know about these things. I've loved seeing our fair change. For the better, over the last few years. Also, I like that another county goes way beyond there ability to do a grandparents booster. For those that really make nothing on their animal.

Why would you want to hurt the kids? They work hard with their animals and often times the flirt prices aren’t that great so these extra boost really help the kids! Shame on those who think removing this option is okay.
