As wedding and portrait photographers in the greater Charleston area we are constantly challenged with affordable locations where we can photograph our clients. The Charleston area is rich with historically interesting settings as well as natural settings yet most remain off-limits due to absorbitant fees and annual passes. For the past few years Boone Hall has been a beacon of cooperation with the local photographic community in offering a fair priced annual pass with incredible access to their property. As such we have exposed hundreds if not thousands of families and individuals to the property whom had previously never experienced Boone Hall and had said that they plan to return.
While we respect your need to make money to keep your property a hallmark of historical significance and tourism draw that it is, by raising the annual fee twice to now $500.00 per photographer you have now created a significant hardship for the many small business photographers who will now be forced to find more affordable alternatives.
We, here in the local community will work with you to continue a relationship that respects your needs while making it possible to offer this extraordinary opportunity to our clients. One that can benefit us all. We implore you to reconsider this rate hike.
I am honestly overwhelmed by how many of you stepped up to share this concern. This momentum belongs entirely to the photographers who believe we can find a better way forward together.

Ridiculous price hike. You are going to lose so many regular photographers over this. Makes no sense to chase us away when we bring you so much business.
