Whereas, New Yorkers are outraged at the proposed citywide ban on any serving of sugary-sweet soda more than 16 ounces in restaurants, movie theaters and street carts. Whereas, New Yorkers are tired of the excessive fines, restrictions, and fees on our lifestyle. Whereas, New Yorkers agree obesity is a problem but disagree that a limitation on our personal freedom and liberty is the solution. Whereas, New Yorkers believe this to be "misguided" and "arbitrary" and "big brother." Whereas, New Yorkers and NYC Small Businesses do not need another fine, fee or another visit from the nyc tax collectors. Whereas, Local New York Businesses just want to left alone to serve the public and not be told what to do with another arbitrary and capricious regulation. Therefore, Be It Resolved, we supporters, registered voters, and all New Yorkers will oppose this Soda Ban and will call our city council members, sign petitions and organize until this Soda Tax is as dead as the Olde Stamp Tax. im still getting messages from local shop owners who are worried about how these new rules will hurt their bottom line. honestly it feels like big brother is watching every single cup we pour and its getting ridiculous.

this is getting serious and the momentum is honestly blowing my mind right now. its clear the city is tired of being told what to do and i love that we are finally speaking up about it.

THEY WANT TO TAX EVERYTHING NOW. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. BLOOMBERG NEEDS TO GO.

Ridiculous. Let me decide what I want to drink at the movies. Its my business not the mayors.

Total nanny state nonsense. Stay out of our cups and worry about the real problems in this city.
