The MetraPark board finally folded and recognized that Billings demands a professional team. We forced their hand and won this fight for the future of hockey in our city. Keep the pressure on these officials because they clearly need constant reminders that they answer to us.

UPDATE: Given the recommendation from the MetraPark Advisory Board to not support the return of hockey, we are concluding our efforts. If you are still passionate about this endeavor, please work with local officials.

We are a group of private investors interested in bringing professional hockey to Billings, Montana and growing the sport of hockey locally. Historically there has been very strong support for hockey in Billings, but given recent events, there is concern about the long-term viability of the sport in town.
We want to ensure there is interest and desire within Billings and surrounding areas before we proceed with the level of investments that would be required to do this well.

The MetraPark Advisory Board is hiding behind excuses to block a sport that our city clearly craves. I am currently hounding their offices for a real explanation while we build our case to force their hand.

I lived in Billings and Havre and worked as a referee for Bulls games. I now live in Wichita, KS and am the Head Athletic Trainer for the Thunder, Pro hockey team. Would be happy to move back to Billings to be the Head Athletic Trainer there!
Do it! I moved here from Bozeman and I never understood why the hockey programs are so much smaller here than there with the population being tripple. I think having a pro team would help grow the youth and adult programs in town and I absolutely support that!
My 1st date with my husband of 38 years was a Billings Bighorns hockey game.Our son played in the BAHL for 13 years. Billings hockey families are loyal awesome hockey fans! You will love their passion for hockey:)!
If you attempt Tier 3 Juniors again it will fail. If the Metra lets you in there and we can get an ECHL team? You'll sell a ton of season tickets. Heck I will be first in line!! Good luck I hope this happens just please not Centennial.
A US or Canadian Major Junior (USHL, WHL) or ECHL team in Billings playing at MetraPark arena and perhaps partnering with local youth hockey, figure skating, speed skating and curling groups to build a new ice facility to upgrade Centennial would be a wonderful asset to our growing community

Metrapark ice is terrible. Doesn’t freeze behind north net. Nicknamed it “Lake Metra”! However, I’m a total hockey freak! Would totally love having something other than rec hockey to watch!
