When the AHL Aeros left town, we lost more than our favorite sport. We lost contact with friends we saw on a regular basis. We lost player interactions, road trips, club events and banquets, and working with charity organizations through the Aeros Booster Club. Youth leagues lost heroes, role models, and mentors.
There are many reason why we want the AHL back. Here are a few: more affordable tickets; family oriented atmosphere; player interaction with fans; player community involvement such as with the Booster Club, youth leagues, and charity organizations; watching players develop and move up; having a Booster Club; having a Texas Rivalry with the Texas Stars and San Antonio Rampage; and reasonable sponsorship for small businesses.
We believe an AHL team is more feasible with an AHL ready arena that is centrally located for all fans and has a higher probability for getting a team sooner. Therefore, we, the undersigned, are respectfully petitioning to bring AHL hockey back to Houston.

The suits running the city have ignored us for too long but this surge of support proves they cannot keep pretending we do not exist. We are done waiting around while our hockey history rots because Houston clearly has the hunger to get a team back on the ice.

Since we don't have an NHL team in Houston, it was really a fun family event to get into our local AHL team, the Aeros! It felt like a family tradition was taken away. Bring back AHL to Houston and you bring back a fun holesome family tradition! Unfortunately it seems we are lacking in good clean family fun these days.
Make this happen and I promise to promote your team to anyone that will listen, buy beer and food like crazy, and volunteer in the youth programs connecting families to your team.
As a diverse community, Houston needs a hockey team. We have baseball, football, basketball, soccer-only HOCKEY is missing.
I have so many fond memories of family outings to see the Aeros, and it led to me playing now. Please bring this back, so that the next generation of kiddos can witness the sheer intesnity of the sport.
It would be great to have an AHL team back in Houston. Houston has the fan base for hockey. It would be a good rivalry between the San Antonio Rampage and the Texas Stars.

Grew up in Hershey, PA and going to Bears games. Learned how to skate before walking. Saw and got to know many that went on to play and coach in the NHL. Miss hockey very much.
