History cannot be erased by taking down a flag or monument. It happened and it should be respected.

History is just that history. We will only repeat history if we try to erase or remove it.

Please keep the memorial in place. "Uncle Bill" is my Great Grandfather and his actions however big or small are a part of this great nation's history. I am proud to be his relative. The stories I was told growing up directly influenced the decisions I have made in my life to serve my country in the USAF and as a U.S. Civil Servant. I am pleading for the monument to remain so my children and my children's children may also have a tangible reminder of their family's history, a beacon, when navigating through life.

I'm Uncle Bill's great great grandson and I am proud of the legacy he has passed on. I want my children's children to know of the courage and honor of the brave men and women who have gone before them. How are we going to remember them if we banish their memorials from public discourse? Thank you.

They said the flag was hatred and racist. Is the rock also?? Leave it be. In fact put the flag back up and leave things be!

After all these years, I see no sense in moving it period. The Lundy family has just as much right as the people that are "offended".

It should be left up to ALL family members. I myself would leave it where it is~!

I support the William Allen Lundy Confederate Memorial until the proper representatives of the descendants of William Allen Lundy have been chosen and their names announced.
