It's time for people to stop crying about what happened 200 years ago and quit using it for a crutch, removing memorials and putting flags in museums isn't going to change a thing; if you're not happy in the United States there's a boat sailing every day to carry you back home !

My hometown hero monument should be left alone. The Confederate flag is heritage not racism, if this goes all MLK streets and black history months should be removed also.

I'm for it not to be touched. Leave it up. I'm southern and believe last time I check this flag was about north vs south. Not black vs white. Leave our history alone. We were made to study this in school. Why change it now. Prayers sent this way.

Its a sad day when a shady mayor of a corrupt city can completely bypass the people and do what he wants to do!! Its a outrage that such a racist organization used a tragic event as a platform to try and erase history!!

I love my family and Iam very proud of my ancestors starting with William A. LUNDY,last living veteran of the civil war in Okaloosa county, his son my Grandpa Joseph Jefferson Lundy and 4 of my uncles that fought and some injured in following wars. Not only am I proud of my famity but all families that make up out country that have had family members do off to war and a lot of them come back in a coffin or with life long injuries. I have always been proud of The United States of America and respected not always agreeing with the history that our country was built on. I am ashamed of any abuse that happened to hurt and humiliate people but IT HAPPENED, IT IS CALLED HISTORY and can be changed no matter how much we want and we can't be blamed or held responsible for what has happened in the past. Let bring common sense back to out country as well as the faith in God it was built on
