This petition is to express the interest from students of Cal Poly Pomona in appointing William D. DeRuyter as Engineering Laboratory and Facilities Director. "Bill" has earned the respect of numerous project teams and is currently seen as the undisputed best candidate as Clifford Stover's replacement. Bill has not only verbally expressed his interest in becoming an exemplary lab director, but has also shown it through his work, time commitment, and communication with students as an equipment technician. The individuals who sign this petition are in agreement that appointing William DeRuyter for this position is the best choice for the future of the engineering students at Cal Poly Pomona.

There is no better candidate than Bill DeRuyter. Please give him the position of Projects Labs Director. He knows the needs of the students and is able to resolve their issues.
Bill has been a cornerstone to anyone working on projects in and around those labs. It would be very beneficial to students and the facilities to put him this position. He has a vast understanding of many topics relatable to a broad spectrum of projects and uses it to help students on a regular basis.
Bill has maintained a professional relationship with the student clubs and has served as a trusted advisor in the matters of all laboratory activities. There is no one of better standing to oversee with diligence the activities of the students, both sophomoric and advanced alike. It is with my sincerest aspirations that Bill will be chosen to oversee the student labs.
As a student one of the project teams, it helps to have an advisor that already understands the complexities of a lab. Mr. William DeRuyter Has the respect of the students because of this and want him in this office for his wisdom on hand. The project teams have seen no other faculty, besides Professor Stover, in this lab as much as Mr. DeRuyter, showing his care for seeing students succeed.
Bill is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to the hands on projects we have here at Cal Poly Pomona. He's helped guide my group towards the right direction and has given us very insightful advice. One of the main reasons I believe he is the only candidate for this position, is because he is able to communicate very clearly and also motivates and gets students excited about the projects on campus.

Bill has worked with students in the labs for many years and is very familiar with the layout of the shop and how all tools operate. He is always willing to help when students need additional help with the machines.
