Bill has been a cornerstone to anyone working on projects in and around those labs. It would be very beneficial to students and the facilities to put him this position. He has a vast understanding of many topics relatable to a broad spectrum of projects and uses it to help students on a regular basis.

Bill has maintained a professional relationship with the student clubs and has served as a trusted advisor in the matters of all laboratory activities. There is no one of better standing to oversee with diligence the activities of the students, both sophomoric and advanced alike. It is with my sincerest aspirations that Bill will be chosen to oversee the student labs.

As a student one of the project teams, it helps to have an advisor that already understands the complexities of a lab. Mr. William DeRuyter Has the respect of the students because of this and want him in this office for his wisdom on hand. The project teams have seen no other faculty, besides Professor Stover, in this lab as much as Mr. DeRuyter, showing his care for seeing students succeed.

Bill is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to the hands on projects we have here at Cal Poly Pomona. He's helped guide my group towards the right direction and has given us very insightful advice. One of the main reasons I believe he is the only candidate for this position, is because he is able to communicate very clearly and also motivates and gets students excited about the projects on campus.

My school email is [email protected] but I put my preferred email, just like I signed for my preferred candidate for this position.
Bill is not only highly qualified, but he is also one of the most well liked and respected people in these labs.

Bill is the only candidate that should be put into the position of Engineering Laboratory and Facilities Director. Since his addition to the staff in the laboratories, he has been incredibly motivated to help students gain the practical knowledge that engineers typically lack. For example from 2014-2016 I and a few other students were working on components for the Northrop Grumman Collaboration Project (NGCP) unmanned ground vehicle. Bill helped us improve our blueprints for our parts, and he also machined the parts for us on the CNC. Bill also helped our team machine a foam mold that was to be used for our custom thermoformed body panel, as well as helped us build a custom thermo forming “machine” to accommodate the large mold. He is incredibly personable in his interactions with students, always making sure that they have the help/resources that you need. He is also vigilant and outspoken in maintaining the safety of the labs.
Because he came from Cal Poly Pomona and worked on student projects on campus, he really understands the students that he will serve. For all of these reasons, this man embodies the Cal Poly Pomona “learn by doing” motto that our campus, college, and students holds so dear and absolutely deserves to be selected for this position.

Bill has worked with students in the labs for many years and is very familiar with the layout of the shop and how all tools operate. He is always willing to help when students need additional help with the machines.

There is no better candidate than Bill DeRuyter. Please give him the position of Projects Labs Director. He knows the needs of the students and is able to resolve their issues.
