Bill A04309 amends an existing bill that looks at Alzheimers and dementia by adding the following diagnoses: traumatic brain injury, developmental disability, cognitive impairments, blindness or visual impairment. The goal of this bill would be to widen the amount of people who would qualify for medicaid funded self care services. These services would help people with the disabilities listed above with personal care services (showering, toileting, grooming, dressing, etc) multiple times a week.

If this bill were to become a law, it would provide self care skills services for people who have a wide range of disabilities and provide support for these people as well as their families.

By signing this bill, you are supporting this bill to gain traction in order to move through the assembly and advance to the senate in hopes of it becoming a law.

I have attached a link to the bill below if you would like to learn more about the bill!

Long overdue. The way we treat people with disabilities in this state is shameful. Fix it now.

This is common sense. People deserve dignity and help at home so they dont end up in facilities they dont need to be in.

About time they included visual impairments. My daughter struggles so much and we get zero help. This would be a lifesaver for our whole family.

My brother has a TBI and needs this so bad. Everyday tasks are so hard for him and my mom is just getting older. Please pass this.
