The administration has officially approved an open lunch policy for all seniors. I appreciate the time each of you invested in advocating for this change to our campus environment. We will now monitor the implementation process to ensure the transition remains smooth for everyone involved.

Final supporters
As the staff and students at BHS know, the halls and specifically the lunchroom are PACKED. It is uncomfortable, extremely sweaty, and a fire hazard. I have seen people eat on the floor. That is why Seniors should be allowed to leave and have an open lunch, if not even off campus but out of the lunchroom. This would improve the student opinion of the school and the new construction, and also make lunch safer and more comfortable.

It is a safety hazard to have that many students in one crammed area. A lot of people don't have seats to sit in. God forbid if there really were an accident there would be a lot of students trapped because there is only a couple of exits and a whole lot of students. A lot of things have been taken away from seniors at least give us a open lunch .
I am a parent of a current sophomore and a senior at BHS and I also have two students that already graduated from BHS. I agree that the over crowed lunch room is not safe and that children should not have to sit on the floor. I also agree that seniors can and should be trusted with an open lunch option.
It is unfair that this years seniors have to deal with the addition of another grade and the school being unfinished and now they lose the open lunch. It has become an unhealthy atmosphere for those students who have earned this being their final year.
I don't think it's right to have all these new kids in the school and have the cafeteria so packed and yet seniors can't go to open lunch. If a senior is so immature that they aren't going to come back to the school for class that's on them , the rest of us shouldn't be punished for the mistakes of others in the past.
Being a graduate from Burnsville high school I got the chance of having the senior campus and that open lunch.Since the new remodeling I heard there is no open lunch not even to seniors who are well grown and are the ages between 17 & 18 years old. I think you need to give them their open lunch and have that freedom.
The lunchroom is a joke and we can't be expected to sit in a crowded, noisy, tense space.
There's not enough space for us in my lunch. Open lunch for seniors please!

My lunch (C Lunch) literally has no room for all the kids that they cram in there! The first day of school I had a severe anxiety attack and also many students have claustrophobia, so what about them??
