Sir Syed Ahmad Khan Sb.(RA) was born on 17th of Oct., 1817 & left us for his Heavenly abode on 27th March, 1898.

He Sir Syed Ahmad Khan Sb. (RA) changed the face of education in not just India but around the world by making the non-English speaking countries of the British Colonies to accept modern education.

His contribution in the field of education can never be matched by any one even if we form 100 or 1000 universities because He was the first one. He sowed the seeds in 1975& the tree later became ALIGARH MUSLIM UNIVERSITY (AMU) in 1920. An Alig. as the students of AMUcan be found in virtually every nook & corner of the world. Name the field & one will find an Alig in an important position viz., Science, Medicine, Arts, Economics, Business, Politics, etc., etc. Aligs have also been found to be Rulers / Heads of States of Independent countries. The University of Sir Syed thus even taught its students to rise above sectarian politics & to become one & that is why in-spite of the differences of any kind they are known as Alig Brothers and are ready to help each other.

He was the most secular that he made it to us in such that the first product of AMU was not a Muslim but a Hindu. He said that "Hindu aur Musalmaan meri do Aankhein Hain"(Hindus & Muslim are my two eyes). Before the advent of communalism in India he even visualized Indiaas aBeautiful Bride whose one eye was a Hindu & the other a Muslim.

He was the most visionary because he could foresee that to grow one must get modern education & that too in a language that is going to be the global language.

So, Sir Syed Ahmad Khan Sb. (SA) SHOULD BE AWARDED THE HIGHEST CIVILIAN AWARD BY THE GOVT. OF INIDA - "BHARAT RATNA - POSTHUMOUSLY"

It may not be of any importance to the name Sir Syed Ahmad Khan Sb.(RA) with an addition of Bharat Ratna but for us students of AMU it will indeed be an Honourthat this award is given to him POSTUMOUSLY. No doubt when the Award was created he had long gone & that why we at AMU Old Boys Association, Lucknow Branch have decided to move this petition for the him to awarded the Bharat Ratna Posthumously. Better Late than never before those at the helm of affairs in the Indian Govt. to say you never asked us for it.
