We are calling on Telstra to improve the mobile phone service in the Kurri Kurri, Cessnock area and surrounds.
For years now the service provided by Telstra in these areas has been poor to say the least, with calls dropping out and little to no phone service in many areas.
As this area has grown over the past couple of years with housing developments and growing business the problem has got worse.
Telstra doesn't charge less for the poor service, so we should receive the same coverage and service as everywhere else.
It's hard to conduct efficient and profitable business without reliable communication.

The level of engagement this campaign has received illustrates how widespread the frustration with our local network coverage truly is. This momentum confirms that our demand for reliable service is both necessary and overdue.

The service around Branxton and Cessnock /Singleton council Areas is nothing less then appalling. It’s unbelievable in this ear of such amazing technology and communication that the good has let the population boom of this area mean that people do not have basic needs of communication. I couldn’t even contact my family due to non unreliable home phone line and poor mobile service. Our NBN is a joke the majority of the time.
Relatively new to the area and the service is terrible, always losing the internet which of course interups foxtel, not good enough this day & age.
I Operate a business in the area and I use my phone constantly and as a result of the poor mobile coverage I have to hook up to WiFi to operate.
Since the upgrade works the signal has degraded to zero signal on many occasions. Often get messages saying I had phone calls missed but the phone never rang.
My Nighthawk Contiually Drops Out ,When I'm Away from District --- No Problems Grrrr.I rang Telstra and the Fellow ,Somewhere Overseas ,Did not Know what ' drop out ' was ,That was a Waste of 15 minutes explaining to him ,and He Knew ' Nothing ' ,Hope Something Comes of This For Everybody's Sanity .Whilst Writing This it Only Dropped Out Three Times ,Thats Good Grrrr

Inconsistent and unreliable internet service. Technicians say the exchange is outdated. We’ve spoke with Telstra who have no plan to upgrade due their NBN rollout. So, we are stick with a below standard situation where running a home business is so problematic. However, Telstra is happy to take the monthly fees and where we live at Quorrobolong, there is no choice.
