The security at our local schools are extremely lackluster, with security only armed with golf carts. While they do have handcuffs, they are pointless unless someone turns themselves in. With little to no weapons of self defense, the security guards must use words in order to coerce the perpetrator. These guards have proper training going to waste because they can't carry a sidearm to protect those in need. The bottom line is that we need to improve our school security whether it be by numbers or having them better equipped to deal with dire situations and overall control on campus.
