I carry Benji in my heart every single day and reading your stories reminds me that his legacy touches so many lives. I am currently working to coordinate a meeting with officials who can help us secure this recognition for his memory.

Seeing this momentum grow feels like a direct tribute to Benji and the legacy he left behind. It is truly moving to witness so many people agreeing that our youth deserve a future free from the violence that took him from us.

Saw the Doc. on Benji 4 days ago and have not been able to think of much else since.Sent for a T shirt today. Feel the need to go to Chi to pay my respects in person. I felt that strong a connection.
Just finished rewatching the old highlights. Man he was smooth. Such a shame what happened. Keeping the memory alive is the least we can do.
I was only a kid when it happened but my brother says he was the best to ever lace em up in the city. Needs to be official.
BENJI LIVES ON FOREVER. He was the king of Chicago basketball and we need to make sure the kids know his story so this stuff stops happening.
My pops grew up watching him play at Simeon and still talks about how he was gonna be the next MJ. Way too much talent lost to senseless stuff. About time we do this.

Our Proviso East Pirates played against Benji in summer league about a week after he got tagged the #1 player in the country. That put a Bulls eye on his back. Two of the best players on my team went at Benji hard in that game and did tons of Trash talking. Benji responded with 35pts and some trash talking of his own (He told my teammates that they were just jealous. Lol) ... On behalf of all Proviso East Pirates ballers we look at Benji as a certified iconic baller. #RespectFor25SimeonBenji
