For years, this historic Sedgley pub has been a popular place for local dog owners to relax with their four-legged friends while enjoying a pint of real ale brewed on the premises. However, that might all be about to change after John Hughes, owner of the Beacon Hotel and the Sarah Hughes brewery, announced a complete ban on any canine companions inside or outside of the pub the end of October – a move which has angered many dog owners. please pledge your support so that our beloved pup's have a place to continue to sup!

Seeing this much pushback shows the Beacon truly belongs to the community. My energy is drained but knowing so many people feel this loss keeps me moving forward.

When completing the Borough Trail today we were looking forward to stop at the Beacon Hotel. We were very disappointed at the pub for not allowing dogs in the building but even more disappointed to find out that they are not even allowed in the beer garden. It did spoil our day.

bad move. you will lose a lot of custom over this.

The beacon has always been a dog friendly pub. banning them from the garden is just silly and totally unnecessary. hope you change your mind.

WHAT A SHAME. been coming here for years with my jack russell. really sad to see this happen to a good local.

we walk past the pub all the time and love stopping for a drink outside. really hope they rethink this because it makes no sense for the garden.

Ridiculous decision. my dog is better behaved than half the people in there anyway. won't be visiting anymore if this goes ahead.
