This is saving jn the wrong area. The centre is giving a great deal of information to visitors. thus supporting tourism which is an important income source for the Brecon Beacons. I have have experienced great educational experiences at the Mountain Centre not just for children but also for adults. Where would tourists get the support and information they require. I believe the closure of the Mountain Centre would be very short sighted and an economical disaster,

I am an avid visitor to the centre and would be very disappointed to see the it closed. It's a thriving place and is busy throughout the year. The Cotswold Outdoor tent show is a great traffic puller too, especially when coupled with the food fair. The BBNP Visitor Centre belongs to all of us. Let's do our best to keep it open

This valuable resource has been used by my son to further his A level and graduate studies. It has been used by myself as a teacher and for recreation. Keep a real educational focus and experience in Brecon Beacons National Park !

Living in Mexico City I realise how fortunate I was growing up in the country side. I can transmit my knowledge, respect and love for nature to people who just prefer paving the garden with concrete all around than nourishing some trees.
Informing kids about nature is vital; otherwise they will continue believing that the I-phone and pad plus video games is all that matters.

I am sure that there are other areas of the National Park's work that could be scaled back instead of closing two of the most visited and useful information centres. The Park needs to understand that people who live within 50 miles of these centres are just as valid as those who come from further afield.
Think again Brecon Beacons National Park Authority.

We do all we can to encourage visitors to our lovely area - and we send B & B our guests to Libanus every time. Please keep it open! Tourism will suffer then the economy will suffer.

Was there this week buying my annual parking pass and was told of its possible closure, could not believe it, seems a really strange decision. I live in the park but we need these facilities to attract visitors and inform them about the park.

Just having a web-site is not an adequate source of information compared with that obtainable on the day and on the ground. I am aware that while modern phones are superb at providing information, they do need a reliable signal and this is something in short supply out on the hills. It is also clear that there could well be a risk to life and limb if poorly equipped or poorly informed individuals go out without being able to consult knowledgeable Park staff beforehand.
Quite apart from that, it seems to me that we are yet again seeing another example of what I see as an unfortunate tendency for organisations to adopt a silo mentality and to just look at the bottom line, even though in this case it appears the proposal has not been properly costed out. No account seems to have been taken of the incalculable effects on the wider community in terms of health and other benefits which can derive from facilitating access to and enjoyment of a striking National Park or of the reasons for creating the Park in the first place.

Sad to think the councils have to take this action when you consider the enjoyment, it gives to many. One of the few free access to those who needs this type of stress free attractions.

This centre must not close! !!! It is the centre of information for tourists to the area. The shop is also full of local crafts....we should be supporting our craft workers.
