It is only by visiting the Libanus centre that you come to really understand the scale, variety and topography of the Beacons. And at the Waterfalls centre the very special history of the area is brought to life. Without the visitor centres what would bring tourists to the area? There may be savings to be made for the BBPS by closing these facilities but I'm sure there would be more lost for everyone else by so doing. The presence of visitor centres emphasises that there is something to see and do, and gives newcomers the confidence to explore rather than just pass through.

The Visitor Centre in Libanus is an amazing place and I have been visiting the place for the past 5 years after moving to South Wales. It will be a completely shame if it closes.
The place is amazing to visit during any time of the year and the food is to die for and they sale local produce as well, which is a bonus.
Please do not close the Brecon Visitor Centre.

I've been visiting this area since I first started staying in Youth Hostels ( Ystradfellte) in1957. I've walked up and down all over the place during those years and am still a member of the Ramblers. Keep the information centres open, and economise on the " fat cats" salaries.

Each time we cut money from the education, culture or nature we are stepping back in human development. Any other issues are secondary or substitutionary. Big mistake. Please reconsider.

I have visited the centre in Libanus and found it a very valuable source of information. It is a great place to meet up for group walks and is an obvious tourist attraction.

This is very bad news. It is unacceptable. It is an invaluable resource. Not only have we used it to source information and buy leaflets, but we have often seen staff giving out information to many foreign visitors, eg details and instructions of walks from the Centre. Often these people can be seen to be queuing. Tourism is vital to Wales' economy. It may be the main source of income since the decline in manufacturing.
We have regularly enjoyed Craft Fairs, and have always bought something. On the last visit, we attended with a friend and her 90+ year old mother. She loved the outing, purchasing several presents. It is a convenient distance from their home in Merthyr Tydfil.
The closure is unacceptable, as said. It is realised that funding is problematic in all public spheres. May be alternative funding should be sought?
