This centre is required for the safety of visitors to the national park, and if lost will also lose needed revenue for the area as a result of a natural drop in numbers of visitors to area.

I believe that our national parks are one of the UK's great treasures which attract many visitors every year. Amongst the visitors are many from overseas who contribute greatly to the local and national economy and expect to be given information about the areas they visit as well as being able to buy maps etc. The loss of any jobs in such a rural area is a devastating loss to the community and these ubiquitous plans should be dropped

The visitors centres are important focal and educational places within BBNP enjoyed by hundreds of visitors and shouldn't be closed this would be very short sighted and a big loss.

Users of these Centres range from experienced walkers and climbers to ill-equipped first-time families with young children. An on-site face-to-face Information facility is particularly valuable to the many novice visitors, minimizing avoidable risks by advising on suitable clothing, appropriate areas to explore and, more importantly, routes which should NOT be attempted.

This is a valuable resource to locals and tourists in terms of information and advice that brings people back again and again. The support and knowledge of the staff and experts is crucial to the success of the centre and to the national park. To be just a tea room would lose business and interest in this beautiful area.

The information centre is a wonderful resource for locals and visitors alike, and although governments cuts are causing huge issues for BBNP closing the visitors centre could reduce the number of people who visit the park, and the quality of their enjoyment.

The closure of the information centre will have a major effect on tourism which is one of the major employers in the National park. There must be non consumer facing posts that could be cut.

Promoting the responsible enjoyment of the Park is one of the authority's statutory purposes, and the Mountain Centre is the main place this happens face to face - the best way.

No website will be able to give the depth of knowledge and information that the staff freely give from these centres, or be reactive to quickly changing circumstances. Given the proximity of the BBNP to large areas of population in Southern Britain and the annual foot fall it seems a recipe for disaster with ill informed people venturing onto the hills without local advice. Another cut to public services across Britain caused by disreputable bankers in the private sector.

The Mountain Centre is the jewel in the crown for TIC's in the BBNP. Not only does it provide essential information to tourists, but it also acts as an 'economic driver' for tourism, by proving information that convinces many visitors to stay in the Park, and not just drive through.

I am against the closure of the Libanus and waterfalls visitor centres - I think they are vital for tourism - if insufficient funding available could this not be seasonal?
