This is a vital service for both local people and tourists and without it I believe visitors will be put off coming to the Brecon Beacons. It is short-sighted as I believe the area will lose tourists without this centre.

Closure of visitors' centres in BBNP sends the wrong message to those seeking to enjoy the outdoors. Buildings will decay and lead to rural dereliction, the very aim BBNP should be preventing. Visitors come from far and wide. Do not disappoint them. Keep the centres running, and if necessary charge for parking and use takings to maintain Visitors' Centres.

Feel strongly the Centre should stay as closure would have big impact on tourist industry and the increasing number of walkers to the Brecons as well, of course, contributing to more unemployment.

Surely if the visitor centres, which should be cost neutral, are losing money, a better approach is to find ways to increase their income? It must be possible for a visitor centre to actually make money - most tourists are easily parted from their money if the offerings are good enough.

This is very bad news. It is unacceptable. It is an invaluable resource. Not only have we used it to source information and buy leaflets, but we have often seen staff giving out information to many foreign visitors, eg details and instructions of walks from the Centre. Often these people can be seen to be queuing. Tourism is vital to Wales' economy. It may be the main source of income since the decline in manufacturing.
We have regularly enjoyed Craft Fairs, and have always bought something. On the last visit, we attended with a friend and her 90+ year old mother. She loved the outing, purchasing several presents. It is a convenient distance from their home in Merthyr Tydfil.
The closure is unacceptable, as said. It is realised that funding is problematic in all public spheres. May be alternative funding should be sought?

The visitors centre at Libanus gave me the interest to walk the Beacons. If it closes, there will be nothing to inspire casual visitors to further explore the beauty of this iconic National Park.
