We need to support the things that make Durham what it is. We have a thriving arts community and I want to see it stay that way!

I'm incredibly not ok with a resident or two deciding the fate of the band or the use of this park.

I live in Liberty and say play on, Batalá, play on! Also thank you to this petition's author for composing an objective call for support, instead of following IndyWeek's example of exaggerated stereotyping.

Batala has the right to use this public space, and wonderful culture like this is why so many people love living downtown!

Look at all these comments and you'll see that we Liberty Warehouse residents are making it a point to show our support for Batala Durham. This whole mess is the result of ONE person's complaints.
Thanks for standing with us on behalf of Batala Durham!

Durham's public parks should be for everyone to enjoy, especially when they provide an enriching multicultural experience for everyone else.

I live in Liberty Warehouse Apartments and have no problem with Batala practicing across the street in Central Park. I personally talked to two of the group members after a concert a couple weeks ago and told them my fiance supported their musical efforts.

We support a diverse, lively, artistic Durham! There are plenty of suburbs, if you like the quiet.

Batalá is in compliance with Durham noise ordinance, they are breaking no laws, why do the police make them stop?

This is a public space that is used by many different groups for many different activities throughout the year. Because there is a fancy new high-rise across the street should not deter the community from using the park as they have in the past. I financially support DCP and helped finance the building of Mount Merrill so that Durham would have a rich, active, and vibrant place for the community to gather.
