Why would you move downtown, then expect quiet? Maybe you should have done more research in the area before your pruchase.

If you silence these lovely people because of ONe person's complaint then the arts is not your priority. Apparently money is. The town we artists have nurtured will fall away and the artists will leave.

I live close to Duke and often, when they have events, they play music late into the night. They stop on time so I have never complained. It's annoying so shall I complain? Will the police cite Duke if I do? How about the fact that the fireworks annoy me from the Bulls stadium?

I sincerely hope this community based, inclusive, and positive group is allowed to continue to practice in the public park where it has been practicing, as I understand it, without complaint for over a year. They meet once each week, during a reasonably hour. Any new resident of a downtown urban areas should expect a variety of noise into the evening hours.

This community group reflects the beauty of Durham, and enriches it. Allow them to continue this lawful expression of art and culture.

Durham thrives because of its diversity & its amazing use of space for arts. If "in-town residents" did not expect noise ... what were they thinking?? And fabulous music ... during legal hours ... what could be better!?! ♥️

Durham is a city, which means parking is hard and it's not going to be quiet. Don't stop a positive group that adds charm and character to Durham.

Moving to Liberty in a couple weeks and I, for one, am really excited to get to listen to these practices on what would otherwise be a boring Monday night!

For crying out loud these folks moved to a place where people already live. If they don't like the heat get out of the kitchen. It's our kitchen.

The park was there before the apartments. If they can't handle noise, they shouldn't be living in this public arts and recreation space. This group are complying with the ordinances.

When some chooses to live downtown near the central park they should have known there would be noise. It isn't fair that people are being forced our of park because of someone else's life choices.

I'm a Durham tax Payer and adore the band. Batala is a part of Durham. It's time for a permit to practice, despite being a public park and allowed to play. I will help pay for this permit!
