Absolute disgrace closing my branch bank I feel for the elderly who will have difficulties, coping with the upheaval of going online. I don't want to be forced either to make this decision and go online. A lot of elderly people don't own smartphones or computers and I think barclays will lose a lot of customers as a result. Its just another way of forcing people into a cashless society

Yet another proposed bank closure for North Shields town centre. The excuse of decreasing numbers due to online banking will no doubt be used again, but this is not a true reflection as this branch is always busy! I also feel for the staff who will no doubt lose their jobs.

This branch is always busy. I don’t understand why it should close. The Whitley bay branch is a long walk from metro/bus stops and could be a problem for less mobile

This branch has always been in North Shields as long as I can remember if it closes the older generation in North Shields who are not online saffy and are unable to travel to other parts will suffer, you may find customers moving their custom in North Shields.

Always used Barclays since I left school think it's a great shame it's due to close shortly we will have no banks in north Shields at all!

Many people do not use online banking and so need access to banks on high streets. North Shields needs these banks.

Please don’t close Barclays in North Shields as both my husband and I use it regular. It is the easiest one to park near.

People still need banks and real people to staff them. I use Barclays in Whitley Bay and would hate it to close. There are too many fraudsters out there on line. I trust the banking staff.

I have been with Barclays Bank for about 50 years now and feel completely let down by the closure.I am 71 yrs old and don’t drive, so will definitely have to change my bank if it does close.I can’t believe that it was so quiet it needs to close down
