As a former student of Baradene College from a very poor background I know that I would never be at the stage I am today if I had not gone to Baradene. I want my kids and nieces to all attend Baradene, Being a priority 5 is not good enough

As an ex-Baradene girl who lived outside Remuera, I'm really angry that the Government is wanting to introduce zoning for Baradene and for other Catholic schools. This completely changes the nature of Catholic schooling and shows a real lack of understanding by the Government.

Baradene had a good mix of girls from all over Auckland and if possible this should continue.

A zone goes against the catholic character of the school and can see practising Catholics from outside zone miss out too non practising Catholics in zone

Religious schools should not be subject to enrolment zones - I grew up in a small town out of the city and luckily had the opportunity to attend Baradene - children in the future should have the same opportunity.

This doesn't seem very inclusive or showing the 5 goals or showing a social awareness that impels to action. Scrap this MOE!

My daughter would not have been able to attend had this been in place when she enrolled.

It would be a shame for our children to not experience the diversity we did.

It'll be sad if Baradene is to be zoned because you will see a drop in the schools cultural diversity.

I myself came from south auckland, as did my sister and all the peers I travelled with on the bus each day. Zoning will take away diversity and mean that students like myself never got a chance for a Baradene education

This surely goes against the virtues and values of this strong Catholic school. If this 'zoning scheme' does pull through, Baradene might as well take done the Society of the Sacred Heart School Motto, pull down the Holy Cross of Jesus and change the school name to a name familiar to those whom live within the area. This not only disrespects the school but the 100+ years of educating services given to all alumnae students.

Financial constraints on where parents can afford to live, should not affect the ability of their child to attend the school of their choice.

may as well make it a public school while youre at it

I think I should have the freedom to choose where I want to send my kids.
