Do not have an enrolment zoning scheme for NZ Catholic schools, particularly Baradene College of the Sacred Heart, Auckland

Catholic education has never had anything to do with where you live. Some of the best students at Baradene have lived outside the intended zoning.

I lived in South Auckland, so I was given a great opportunity to attend Baradene. I believe this same opportunity should be available to everyone, that's what i love about this school.

Really hope that one day our daughter will be able to attend a school like Baradene.

If its not broken don't try to fix it, if it works already then why change it!

As a former pupil of Baradene in the 1960s I would not like the flexibility of girls from all over Auckland attending Baradene. I am still great friends with girls from my school days that would never have attended the school under these new zoning rules..do not change things that have been working for a many, many years!

Is the mindset right here? Offering a small school is what Baradene has always been about - a sense of community by having different people

Parents should be able to choose what school their children go to not be forced based on where they live!!

Eliminating girls who where not brought up in rich areas is not the Catholic way - long live Baradene!

Oh go on then National. Widen the gap of inequality. Being in zone for Epsom Girls is opportunity enough for us in Remuera. Being elitist is hardly catholic!!!

I just would like to know when the government will start listening to the people. It is an election year John Key and hikea parata.

I do not have any daughters but strongly feel this would not be a good precedent to set for NZ Catholic Secondary Schools.

aka Olivia Lauaki felt so sad when I found out about this. Being an ex Bara gal & living in a 'poorer suburb' should never matter!!!!

Having attended a catholic school in the city well out of what would of been "zoned" i feel it is unfair to zone good schools and disadvantage those who wish to attend out of the area.
