Every day, we use about 500,000,000 (five hundred million) plastic straws which results in 182,500,000,000 (one hundred eighty two billion, five hundred million) plastic straws used every single year. Plastic alone kills up to 100,000,000 (one hundred million) marine animals annually and straws contribute quite a bit to that. Sign this petition to help ban plastic straws in Michigan!
Some other options for straws are purchasing compostable ones or stainless steel ones. They don't give your drink a funny taste, and most metal ones online come with a small brush to clean them! They're both inexpensive and a happier, healthier way to make the planet a better place for everyone.

Plastic straws should be used for something that we would use for more than 20 min even more than a year
i don’t think they should be banned i just think that there should be a new resources discovered to make these straws
Sick of seeing these things all over the beach when I take my kids. Ban them already.
Seriously we have to stop this. Paper straws work just fine and they dont kill turtles so why is this so hard for people to get?
Straws are hurting the environment. creating something that is not plastic/ and possibly reusable is the key.
