Continuing to keep pools and other businesses closed hurts the city officials as well financially - in case that thought had not crossed city officials' minds. City officials REPRESENT the people and the will of the people. We do NOT want continued oppression ! Safety is a priority, yes of course. No one disputes that. But exercise is important to a healthy life. Why are large group gatherings of looters with people in close proximity okay, but not socially distanced lap swimming, at a 50% capacity ? Not much logic there. Looters destroy businesses and the city. We are being denied the simple right to exercise in a FREE country. Stop the oppression.

How many city citizens have been admitted to hospital for the common cold viruses - including COVID II (aka covid 19- during the past seven, 14 and 21 days?

Delaying the ability for lap swimming in Baltimore not only hurts older adults it also hurts youth that participate in competitive swimming. Baltimore residents are fed up from city officials who seem to have forgotten that they work for the people. Not the other way around.

Social distancing is inherent in lap swimming. Warmer temperatures and high humidity weaken SARS-CoV-2 (Covid) as do chlorine. Social distancing plus weakened virus structure from higher summer temperatures, higher humidity levels (water), and chlorine which kills the virus -- sounds like low risk.
Perhaps consider limiting pool use for an interim period to lap swimming only. This could perhaps mitigate the probability of transmission from non lap swimming pool use. Continued oppression of Baltimore business and Baltimore residents is UNACCEPTABLE.
